It’s been eight months since our Mad-Read-a-Thon has been announced and I have been slowly but surely getting through books. I have read a total of four books and even though it’s not much, it feels pretty good to get back into reading.
I have placed our reading goal at 15 books for the year and I’m hoping to get a bit past that. We do have October Madness fast approaching and I’m hoping to read a new horror book for the season.
Next up and the fifth book will be Cerulean Sins, book 11 of the Anita Blake series.
“Cerulean Sins, the eleventh entry in the hugely-popular Anita Blake series, finds everyone’s favorite vampire hunter keeping house and kicking butt.
Anita Blake is trying to get her life back to “normal” after a break-up with her werewolf lover. She has settled into a pattern of domesticity, which means that the new man in her life, the leopard shapeshifter Micah, has no problem sharing her with Jean-Claude, Master Vampire of the City. Things are as peaceful as they ever get for someone who raises the dead, when Jean-Claude receives an unexpected and unwelcome visitor: Musette, the very beautiful, very twisted representative of the European Council of Vampires. Anita soon finds herself caught up in a dangerous game of vampire power politics.”…
I really want to get through at least book 16 in this Anita Blake series before the year is over. I’ve been enjoying this series and Anita is one of my favorite characters.
I also have heard about this book on Instagram from the author and I’m debating on trying it out.
The Making of Gabriel Davenport by Beverly Lee.
“In a house built on truth something lays hidden.
Beth and Stu Davenport moved to Meadowford Bridge to give their young son, Gabriel, an idyllic childhood. But one night, their dream is shattered by a hidden, ancient darkness– and their lives are forever changed…“
I’m hoping to get a physical copy of this book and will keep you update on my Instagram when I start reading.
If you do have any other suggestions on what books I should check out and read, leave them in a comment below and happy reading!
