A Peek Inside: Krewella

A Peek Inside
A peek inside is a new posting I’m starting to spread a little love and light and inspiration whenever I run across an inspiring interview.

Want to know who and what’s been helping me refill my creative well?

I’ve been lacking creativity and living in ‘reality’ a lot so know I’m looking down my well (that does not have the Annabelle thrown down it…see the movie) and seeing that I have nothing and my bucket is scraping the bottom.

Anyway, weeks I made a declaration to refill the well and Muse has been throwing at me lots of inspiration in the form of videos, music, books, and exercises like this one.

This is the interview with my favorite group Krewella.  I’m obsessed with their music and excited to see them next month.

This is a long interview but it was definitely worth listening to and learning more about them.

One of my favorite answers to a question about fears, Jahan shares:

“We both work a lot, so I’m thinking about my career and maintaining Krewella, and growing as an artist but at the same time, I feel like doing that I’m losing touch with people in my personal life so I’m always trying to find this balance of how do you hustle but also keep people close to you.”

And Yazmine adds “And also your relationship to yourself.”

And I’d have to agree on trying to find the balance or what I think of mundane reality with your dreams and hustle.  It’s not easy.

I’ve been learning to say no more and not accepting every invitation thrown my way but it’s hard because you want to spend time with your people.

This was one of the most inspirational I’ve seen and I’m glad the search for Krewella brought me to Lewis Homes, the interviewer, because he has all my favorite people like Danielle LaPorte and Lilly Singh. I cannot wait to dive into those interviews.

We have a couple more Peek’s Inside posts coming so be on the lookout.  I’ll leave you with my favorite Krewella song:
